Work history
Mr. Dang Hoang Giang started his career in 2000 at the Department of International Law and Treaties, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After five years, he was assigned to the Permanent Mission of Viet Nam to the United Nations in New York. Following the conclusion of his term in 2007, he returned to Viet Nam and worked for a year at the Department of International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was then assigned to the Permanent Mission of Viet Nam to the UN in New York for a second term as First Secretary and Political Coordinator of Viet Nam at the United Nations Security Council.
Upon returning to Viet Nam in 2010, Mr. Dang Hoang Giang was appointed as Assistant Director-General at the Department of International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He then served as Assistant to the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and later Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
From 2012 to 2016, he was Deputy Chief and from 2016 to 2021 Chief of Cabinet of Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From December 2019 until early 2021, he was Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs.
From March 2021 until February 2022, before appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to the United Nations, Mr. Dang Hoang Giang was Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. He was also Chairman of the Viet Nam National Commission for UNESCO.
